Service description

Dawn is an iOS application that helps you build a daily morning reading habit, kept honest by a live photo. The core mechanic is:

• You set a personal wake hour the night before.
• Each morning, before that wake hour, you open the app and capture a live photo of your open book or reading material.
• Capturing a photo before the deadline increments your streak by one day. Missing the deadline resets your streak to zero. The day cannot be backfilled.
• The app records your daily entries, displays a streak history, a calendar of past days, and a shareable "Daily Card" that combines your photo with the date and day number.

Dawn is provided as a consumer mobile application distributed through the Apple App Store. Some features (habit tracking, the camera capture flow, reminders, and on-device history) are available without a paid subscription. Advanced features (unlimited entries, cloud backup, sharing) require an active Pro entitlement (see Subscriptions). We may add, change, or remove features over time as the product evolves.

Account creation

• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
• Accounts are created through Sign in with Apple. We do not offer email-and-password sign-up. By creating an account you also agree to Apple's Sign in with Apple terms.
• You are limited to one account per person. Sharing a single account across multiple people, devices belonging to different users, or commercial reselling of accounts is not permitted.
• You are responsible for keeping your Apple ID (and any device on which Dawn is signed in) secure. Anything done from your authenticated session is treated as done by you. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
• The information we collect at sign-up is described in our Privacy Policy. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Delete account inside the app. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.

Subscriptions

• Plans. Dawn offers a Monthly plan and an Annual plan. Current pricing is shown inside the app at the time of purchase, in your local currency, and may differ across regions.
• Free trial. Each plan begins with a short free trial (currently 3 days). The trial is available once per Apple ID and per Family Sharing group; if you have already used a trial on any Dawn subscription, a new subscription begins billing immediately.
• Billing. Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple through the App Store using the payment method on file with your Apple ID. Jaco does not see or store your payment details.
• Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically for the same plan and price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Renewal is charged within 24 hours of the period end.
• Cancellation. You can cancel any time in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your iPhone, or at apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. After cancellation, Pro features remain active until the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not control cancellation flows. Apple does.
• Refunds. All refund requests are handled by Apple, not by Jaco. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com to request one. We may, at our discretion, assist with Apple-side requests, but we cannot issue refunds directly.
• Price changes. If we change subscription prices, we will notify you in-app and through the App Store before the new price takes effect on your next renewal. You can cancel before the new price applies.
• Restoring purchases. If you reinstall Dawn or sign in on a new device, tap Restore Purchases on the paywall to reconnect your active subscription. Restoration is tied to the Apple ID that originally purchased.
• Apple's EULA. Apple's Standard EULA governs your purchase from the App Store. These terms supplement, and do not replace, that EULA. If the two conflict on a purchase-related matter, the EULA controls.

Acceptable use

When using Dawn, you agree not to:

• Upload photos or other content that is illegal, sexually explicit, hateful, harassing, threatening, or that infringes anyone's intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights.
• Capture or upload photos of identifiable third parties without their consent. The intended subject of a Dawn photo is your reading material, not other people.
• Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with one, when communicating with us or other users.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any account, server, network, or data, including by probing, scanning, or testing the vulnerability of our systems, or by bypassing rate limits, authentication, or row-level security.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of Dawn, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits.
• Scrape, mirror, or systematically download data from Dawn, or use bots, scripts, or other automated means to interact with the service.
• Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute access to Dawn, including by sharing a paid account across multiple unrelated people.
• Use Dawn in any way that interferes with, degrades, or disrupts the service or the experience of other users. For example, by uploading abnormally large files, spamming the capture endpoint, or exploiting bugs.
• Use Dawn to develop or train machine learning models without our written permission.
• Use Dawn in violation of any applicable law, regulation, or third-party agreement (including Apple's App Store rules).

We may, at our discretion, remove content or suspend accounts that we reasonably believe violate these rules. Repeated or severe violations may lead to permanent termination.

Photos and content

The photos you capture in Dawn belong to you. You grant us a narrow, internal license to store and display them inside your account so the app can show your own history back to you. We do not publish, share, or train models on your photos.

Termination

You can stop using Dawn at any time. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that abuse the service.

Disclaimer

Dawn is provided "as is." We do our best to keep it running, but we don't promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will fit any particular purpose beyond what we describe on this site.

Limitation of liability

To the extent allowed by law, Jaco's total liability for any claim relating to Dawn is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Changes

If we change these terms materially, we'll update the date at the top and post a notice in the app.
